Practice

We have all heard the phrase “Practice makes perfect.”

The only real way to find success as a dancer is through practice, as often as you can. While fun and exciting, to take dance to your highest level achievable a lot of hard work, sweat and perseverance is required.

Really the only thing that separates an exceptional dancer from an average dancer is their dedication to practice.

Let’s take a look at why persistent practice is the key to becoming a great dancer.

Why Practice?

Did you know that studies show that almost 80% of what we learn every day is forgotten?

This means that while you may feel that you’re learning a lot in class, chances are that a lot of it will be forgotten later on. The good news though, is that there’s evidence to suggest that frequent practice –can in fact help you to retain much more.

Practising doesn’t mean once and done, and it certainly doesn’t mean that you have to perform the same moves over and over, but it does mean setting goals, and working towards perfecting your technique, be it through exercise or practising your moves.
